WINTER DIARY
It was a rimy winter morning
The effulgent star tore apart the climate of arctic
But an awkward silence in the city was lingering
Having houses with doors shut and citizens nostalgic.
Cozy insides with coals in fireplace burning
People relished over hot soup with noodles and garlic
Kids awaited for gifts for Christmas was nearing
Cookies and cakes baked, left the streets aromatic.
Late afternoons were rather perky and exhilarating
Piles of snow outdoors made youngsters frantic
Elders visited neighbors' sipping coffee and chattering
Frosty leaves, glassy lakes, winter birds, oh 'twas scenic.
Inky sky with tiny freckles had the city lights complementing
Groups of choir singing noels, strumming guitars, acoustic
Friends and Family gathered, it was time for feasting
Happy souls turned to profound sleep with snores rhythmic
